Dentaid The UK Dental Charity

Dentaid The Dental Charity will be changing its name to Dentaid in March 2023. The new branding includes a new logo and branding.

Dentaid The Dental Charity continues its international work today. The charity has seen a huge increase in UK projects, especially since the pandemic. It now has seven mobile dental units as well as a trailer to provide dental services for those experiencing homelessness or other under-served areas. The charity’s BrightBites programme can be delivered in schools and nurseries throughout the UK. Regional hubs have been established in the southeast and north of England.

The charity will operate around 500 UK clinics to help people who are homeless or from other difficult-to-reach groups. This figure is almost double the 276 last year and Dentaid The Dental Charity managed 174 UK clinics in 2021.

The charity serves many people, including rough sleepers and those who may be vulnerably housing. It also helps families with cancer, refugees, asylum seekers, victims of abuse, fishermen communities, and ex-service personnel. The charity continues to receive high demand and has visited 25 additional locations this year.

Dentaid won last June the Healthcare and Medical Research category of the prestigious Charity Awards, helping the charity secure new funding, partnerships, and exposure.

Andy Evans, CEO, stated that “We have accomplished a lot using our old logo and branding” but it was time to make a change after a period in rapid expansion especially in the UK. We need branding that reflects the country’s work and has a modern appearance. The public is becoming more aware of the importance of a dental charity, and our work is being promoted stronger than ever. We also know the strength of Dentaid in the dental sector, and are grateful for the support of so many corporate sponsors and volunteers. We have changed our name to Dentaid the Dental Charity to preserve everything we have achieved and be clear about what we do in order to continue growing and moving forward.

Specific grant funding is used to fund the rebranding. The new branding includes new packaging for mobile dental units, marketing materials, and a website to make it easier for volunteers sign up. To make it easier for project partners and volunteers, funders and funders to navigate this website, the charity’s UK work and overseas work are separated. The logo has a tooth and a heart that reflect the charity’s values.

Andy said, “We are experts in providing dental care for our patients. Everything we do is about breaking down any barriers that might prevent under-served people from accessing care.” It’s more than just dentistry. It’s about listening and providing a compassionate, caring service that meets the needs of our patients. Dentistry can help patients start a new chapter of their lives. Our amazing volunteers and staff make it possible for us to be there every day to help patients get treatment, discuss their oral health, and go to appointments. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey and we are thrilled to announce our new name. We are confident that Dentaid The Dental Charity will be a busy and exciting company in the future.
